Peagreen was not a muggle

Despite it being a miserable rainy Easter Monday I have had a pretty decent day :) I've seen James, made gingerbread men with Nikki, drove my Dad's car for the first time since Christmas and watched 'The Borrowers' and 'The Mummy Returns'.

Now... me and Nikki thought we were absolutely brilliant when we came up with this piece of pure comedic genius whilst watching the borrowers...

We quite enjoyed spotting all the Harry Potter characters in the film; Professor Slughorn, Mr Weasley and Draco Malfoy all rolled up into one film. The evil guy is even called Mr Potter haha! (Slight digression... this little quirk helped Nikki to finally understand irony.. what a complete plank she is :P)  However, our smugness was to be short lived as I found this rather disappointing picture while I was googling Peagreen...

TOO LATE :'(

No bunny at all! Always no bunny at all!

Chandler might not be a fan of all things Easter related but I definitely am!

Who would want to complain about a four day weekend, endless chocolate, lent being over, bunnies, sheep, chickens and creme eggs which are my most favourite choccie ever! I won't have time to write my usual Sunday blog tomorrow as I'm at my neighbour's wedding :) as far as I understand it is a Hindu/Sikh celebration so I'm quite excited to be part of the culture for a few hours, especially the food which is amaaaaazing! So here is your HAPPY EASTER :) I hope you all enjoy your extra long weekends and that you don't feel sick after  eating all of your chocolate!

I got into the Easter spirit today by decorating some home-made banana fairy cakes with some yummy lindt eggs :) For the avid bakers out there you can have a looky here for the banana fairy cake recipe.

How will you be celebrating your Easter? :)

5 April 2012

never regret anything because at one time it was exactly what you wanted.

I came across the quote in this post's title while I was in the middle of my usual perusing of pinterest and I really liked it :) You might look back at your life and think 'why oh why?' or 'for the love of god what was I thinking?' but at that point in your life that was what you were wanting to do :)

... WHY OH WHY?!?

Ha ha ha! Now this got me thinking about my hair, I know this seems like a very shallow digression to be taking but for me it all just seemed relevant :) I have not always been very nice to my hair, I have dyed it and heat damaged it within an inch of it's life for years but finally I am on the quest for beautiful natural hair!

I decided to create a hair journey for you to see all the different looks I've had over the past five years; even I can't believe how much I've changed!

When I was about thirteen I started messing about with hair dye, semi-permanent red and purple were on the agenda but I gave up on this after a bit and had natural hair for a few years. The first picture is fifteen year old me with lovely long natural hair that I decided to chop off when I was sixteen as I was feeling a bob :) Now I am REALLY impatient when it comes to growing my hair, so while I was in the process of growing out my bob, I decided to go blonde for a few months and experiment with extensions. I loved being blonde but my poor hair did not agree! I returned to the dark side and spent most of freshers with really dry crappy hair :'( Last year I took the plunge and went short again, this time opting for a Frankie Sandford inspired look, to cut off all the damaged ends. After NINE MONTHS of growing this out and having to tuck the left side behind my ear for what felt like forever, I FINALLY have my bob back :) Just another year or so until I  have lovely long natural hair again!!! :)

I definitely don't regret anything that I've done to my hair, or anything else I've done in my life in fact :) I have learnt from my successes and my mistakes and I often laugh at how naiive I was at times :) I have always been a bloomin nutter and a bit of a geek and I guess I always will be :D

Inspiring images.

After out first glimpse of summer in England, I literally can't wait for endless days of sunshine, shorts and ice lollies! I'm also excited for when I get back in York because I will have a new bike to enjoy in the sun :) I'm looking to accessorise with a cute wicker basket too ;)

These pictures from a-t-l-a-n-t-i-c.tumblr have got me craving my bike and my summer break already! Months of chilling out, holidays and spending time with my family and James...

April Fools.

I actually remembered that it was the first of the month today! Which means I said my 'white rabbits' to bring me luck and I managed to get a cheeky April fools in before noon. My Mum was not impressed when I told her I'd left a very important memory stick in York yesterday hahaha! It looks like I'm not the only one that was prepared with their April fools trick this morning...

Innocent drinks strike again on Facebook with their 'new' marmite and mango flavoured smoothie; most definitely the BEST page I have ever 'liked'.

Any major Harry Potter fan would also know that April fools day is also the birthday of Hogwarts' resident tricksters Fred and George Weasley :)

Don't go thinking that all the fun of April is over by the first though! I am prepared for a really exciting Easter break despite all my assignments I need to get done. Everyone deserves to have a little break and do the things they enjoy :D soooo I am finally getting my hair cut, there's lots of birthdays to celebrate, I get to spend two weeks with James before the lucky moo gets to go to Malta aaaaaaaaaaaaaand....

It is nearly EASTER!!
Who would not get excited over the prospect of lent being over (not that I resisted biscuits for long) and being able to dig into all the different chocolate eggs. I am obsessed with creme eggs myself and I have to admit I have been having a cheeky much on them since the end of February!

Summer shopping has started
Thanks to ASOS offering 20% off for NUS cardholders AND free delivery I now have my first bikini for my holiday in July :) I was really impressed that ASOS offer bikinis that are DD+ because I always struggle to find bikinis for my shape; it is the perfect fit so now I'm looking into ordering some more! The rest of my Lanzarote wardrobe will be searched for over my Easter break with my Mum, Nan and Nikki; I'm feeling lots of floaty dresses!

Harry Potter Studio Tour
April nineteenth, HURRY! I didn't think I could possibly get more excited but I just am!!!!!

I hope you all have some amazing things planned and have a fabby time over Easter too!
